Principal's Message

Parents and Students,

Welcome to Columbia Falls Junior High! I am proud and humble to serve as the principal. There is a fantastic tradition of academic excellence and serving the whole child. We have an excellent staff, hard-working students, and a wonderful community to work within.

Providing a Safe, Welcoming, and Orderly Environment is one of our primary focuses at CFJH. We ask for your help in achieving this objective. One of the main concerns this year is COVID 19 and the pandemic. Students must adhere to some new policies and procedures, including wearing masks and practicing physical distancing. Parents are asked to contact the office if they need to conduct school business or need to provide something for their child. We are doing our best to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. Please do not hesitate to immediately contact Mr. Miller, Mr. Cooper, or our school counselors about any issues your child may be having.

Attendance is a crucial factor for student success. Breakfast, offered free of charge, is available for students at 7:50 a.m. Starting the day off with a meal and having energy to learn is extremely important. Our school day starts at 8:20 a.m. Students are dismissed MTThF at 3:25 p.m. and on Wednesday at 2:25p.m. Please ensure you call the school office to excuse your child when they are absent. We need your help in confirming they are accounted for and safe.

Another critical component to student success is their social and emotional well being. Here at CFJH we are focusing on serving these needs. We are conducting daily “check-ins” with students and allowing them to seek out assistance if they so choose. Our counselors are meeting with students on a daily basis and teachers are conducting “Morning Meetings” to build classroom community, build relationships, and create a welcoming environment. Our theme this year is “Wildcat United. Together we’ve got this!” Teachers, students, and staff have been working hard on supporting each other and creating a successful school year!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thanks again, and we look forward to another exceptional year at CFJH!
